Construction Consultation and Estimates
Cost estimation, planning, and construction guidance for people who are deciding what to build, and what it is reasonable to expect.
A conversation before a commitment
Construction consultation is for the stage when you have land, or you are about to buy it, and you need a builder’s view. How many floors make sense on this plot? What should a quotation include? What is still missing before anyone can price the work honestly?
KPB offers that as an initial consultation. It is guidance and the start of an estimate. It is not a set of working drawings, and it is not a promise that a house can be built for a number heard second-hand.
What is useful to bring
The location, the land size in perches, and a sketch or house plan if you have one. The number of floors and bedrooms you have in mind, and any budget you are trying to stay near. A survey plan helps when the plot is irregular or steep.
If you have nothing on paper yet, still ask. Part of the consultation is sorting out which decisions change the cost, and which can wait. You can also start from a house concept on this website once those plans are published, and request an estimate for that specific house.
What you should get back
You should leave knowing the main cost drivers for your project, what KPB would need in order to quote, and whether the idea fits the land in a general sense. Where the information is enough, the next step is a written construction estimate.
Use the estimate form and, if you can, attach or name the plan you want priced. The KPB team replies about your project. There is no value in a consultation that ends with a brochure and no way to continue.
Planning a house in Kandy?
Tell KPB about the land, the rooms, and when you want to start. You will get an initial consultation, not a generic rate.
